Maybrey Precision Castings, a sand and gravity die foundry in Kent, is privileged to have recently participated in creating MTArt Agency artist Rayvenn Shaleigha D'Clark MA, FHEA, MRSS "Black Rennaissance” sand cast sculptures. The Equality Justice Initiative commissioned the sculptures, which were produced by Millimetremakes and cast by us at Maybrey Reliance.
Rayvenn’s incredible work is currently being displayed at the Freedom Monument Sculpture Park, a 17-acre site on the banks of the Alabama River, exploring enslaved people's lived experience in America.

The Freedom Monument Sculpture Park honours the lives and memories of the 10 Million black people who were enslaved in America and celebrated their courage and resilience. Thousands of Black people were trafficked by boat and rail to forced labour camps along the Alabama River, at the Freedom Monument Sculpture Park the lives and legacies of these people are explored, remembered and honoured.

Our participation in the project demonstrates our proficiency with various metals, such as irons, copper-based alloys, and aluminium, all essential to obtaining the intended structural and artistic results. Maybrey Precision Cast-ings, a sand and gravity die foundry in South East England with AS9100 and ISO9001 accreditation, is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

3D-printed sand moulds were an innovative technique for casting the "Black Renaissance" sculptures. This technology enhances material flexibility and customisation and supports complex designs. Large-scale one-off sand cast artwork production benefits significantly from it as it ensures process efficiency and sustainability while retaining a high degree of fidelity to the original artistic vision.

Furthermore, our facility is capable of more than just sand or gravity die casting; we are skilled in CNC machining, which enables flawless finishing and detailing of sculptures. This blend of cutting-edge technology and traditional craftsmanship highlights our adaptable approach to satisfying the demands of the art industry, which we have been supplying with sand and gravity die castings for more than 30 years.

We at Maybrey Precision Castings are more than a Kent foundry. We are a centre for creativity and innovation, working on important projects. Cast in silicon bronze, the "Black Renaissance" sculptures are beyond just works of art; they are testaments to the enduring legacy of those they represent and symbols of history, emotion, and the unwavering human spirit.

We welcome you to view these stunning sculptures and consider the important narratives they represent at the Freedom Monument Sculpture Park. Maybrey Precision Castings is dedicated to innovation, quality, and the artistic remembrance of history.

We continually strive to expand the boundaries of what is possible in the foundry industry.
